Halal & Muslim-friendly restaurants in Shiga

Shiga is a prefecture next to Kyoto, built around Lake Biwa, Japan's largest freshwater lake, where visitors can enjoy boating, walking and cycling. Its main sights include Hikone Castle, Ishiyama-dera Temple in Otsu, Chikubu Island in the north of the lake, and the old merchant town and canal of Omihachiman. It is less crowded than many places in Japan, so it suits travelers who want a calm trip; we did not find a mosque or prayer room listed on Shiga's official sites.
