Omi-Maiko Beach

近江舞子水泳場

Omi-Maiko is a swimming beach on the west shore of Lake Biwa in Otsu. White sand runs for about 4 km, and pine groves line the shore. It has long been known as a place of beautiful scenery and appears among the Eight Views of Lake Biwa. In summer, people come to swim and windsurf in the calm lake water.

Visitor information

Opening hours: The swimming beach is open from July 1 to August 31.
Getting there: A 5-minute walk from Omi-Maiko Station on the JR Kosei Line.

Paid parking is available (about 600 cars).
In summer it is one of the busiest resort spots on Lake Biwa, popular for swimming and windsurfing.

Tips for Muslim visitors
