Tsunoshima Bridge
角島大橋
Tsunoshima Bridge links the mainland with Tsunoshima Island in northern Shimonoseki. At 1,780 meters, it is one of the longest toll-free public road bridges in Japan. White sand beaches and cobalt-blue sea make it a famous scenic spot that often appears in TV commercials. Visitors enjoy walking, cycling and taking photos, especially on clear summer days.

Tips for Muslim visitors
- There is no footpath on the 1,780 m bridge, so be careful of traffic.
- Buses from Takibe Station to the bridge are limited.
- There are restaurants scattered around the island.
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
