Uesugi Shrine and Matsugasaki Park (Yonezawa)
上杉神社・松が岬公園
Matsugasaki Park stands on the ruins of Yonezawa Castle, and the castle's main enclosure is now inside the grounds of Uesugi Shrine. The shrine honors the famous warrior Uesugi Kenshin, whose clan ruled the area. Next to it, Keishoden Memorial Hall shows items of the Uesugi family. In spring about 200 cherry trees bloom along the moat.
