Kajo Park (Yamagata Castle Ruins)
霞城公園
Kajo Park is a city park built on the ruins of Yamagata Castle, close to JR Yamagata Station. The castle walls are said to be the original ones built by the lord Mogami Yoshiaki. Today it is a quiet place where local people relax, and the bank of the moat is a pleasant walking path. In spring, cherry blossoms make it a popular viewing spot.
