Kurobe Dam
黒部ダム
Kurobe Dam is the tallest dam in Japan, 186 meters high, on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Its construction took seven years. Behind it lies the emerald-green Kurobe Lake. From summer to autumn, the dam releases water in a huge misty spray, and the observation deck at the highest point gives a view of the whole dam.
