Mitokusan Sanbutsuji Temple and Nageiredo Hall
三徳山三佛寺 投入堂
Mitokusan Sanbutsuji is a mountain temple in Misasa Town. Its famous Nageiredo Hall is built into the mouth of a cave on a steep cliff and is a national treasure. No one knows exactly when it was built; legend says the monk En no Gyoja built it with spiritual power. Visitors climb a rocky mountain path, helped by chains in places, to see the hall.
