Naruto Whirlpools
鳴門の渦潮
The Naruto Strait is 1.3 km wide and has some of the fastest currents in the world. When the Seto Inland Sea meets the Kii Channel, whirlpools up to about 20 meters across form as the tides change. You can watch them from sightseeing boats, some with glass panels, or from the Uzu-no-Michi walkway, a 450-meter path with glass floors under the Onaruto Bridge, 45 meters above the sea.
