Mount Omuro Lift
大室山登山リフト
Mount Omuro is a bowl-shaped hill in Ito, formed by an eruption about 4,000 years ago. It is the symbol of the Izu Kogen area, a national natural monument, and part of the Izu Peninsula UNESCO Global Geopark. Visitors ride the lift up to the 580 m summit viewpoint. From the top you can see Mount Fuji, the Izu Islands and the Boso Peninsula.

- Facilities include accessible toilets, a nursing room, diaper-changing space and multilingual signs.
Tips for Muslim visitors
- The lift is the only way up; climbing the mountain on foot is prohibited.
- The walk around the summit crater is about 1,000 m and takes 20 to 30 minutes.
- There are toilets, including a universal toilet, at the summit.
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
- Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.
- Plan your visit around prayer times. Below are today's prayer times for Shizuoka and the verified places to pray nearby.
