Yuushien Garden
由志園
Yuushien is a Japanese garden on Daikonshima Island in Lake Nakaumi, an island known for peonies and Korean ginseng. The stroll garden covers about 40,000 square metres and recreates the scenery of the Izumo region around a pond. Peonies and many other flowers bloom through the four seasons. You can walk along the paths and enjoy the pond and plants at a slow pace.

Tips for Muslim visitors
- The garden has three restaurants and a tea room overlooking the garden.
- Peonies are also kept in a hothouse, so they can be seen in bloom all year round.
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
- Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.
