Shimane Art Museum
島根県立美術館
Shimane Art Museum stands on the shore of Lake Shinji in Matsue, and its main idea is harmony with water. Many works in its collection are related to water, and the collection displays change about 40 times a year. The sunset seen from the museum over the lake is chosen as one of Japan's 100 best sunsets. In summer the museum stays open until after sunset so visitors can enjoy the view.
