Matsue Castle

Matsue Castle

松江城

Matsue Castle was completed in 1611 by Horio Yoshiharu after five years of building. It is one of only 12 castles in Japan that still have their original castle tower. In 2015 it was named a National Treasure. Visitors can climb the wooden tower and walk around the castle grounds and moats in the center of Matsue.
