Yutoku Inari Shrine

祐徳稲荷神社

Yutoku Inari Shrine in Kashima City is one of the three major Inari shrines in Japan. It was founded in 1687, and its large vermilion-lacquered buildings draw several million visitors a year. Paths with red torii gates lead up the hill to the inner sanctuary, with a view toward the Ariake Sea. There is also a museum about the Kashima Domain and a shopping street with small eateries.
