Tozan Shrine (Arita)
陶山神社
Tozan Shrine stands in Arita, a town famous for porcelain. It was built in the late 1600s on the order of the local governor and was renamed Sueyama-Jinja, "Ceramic Mountain Shrine", in 1871. The grounds have several porcelain structures, including a large porcelain torii gate from 1888. There is also a memorial to Kanagae Sambe'e, the Korean potter who found porcelain stone at Izumiyama in the early 1600s.
