阿智神社
Achi Shrine stands on top of Mt. Tsurugata, a small hill that overlooks the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. The grounds have a Noh stage and an old garden. A famous wisteria tree, about 300 to 500 years old, grows here and is a natural monument of Okayama Prefecture. Its pale pink flowers bloom around the end of April and slowly turn white.
The grounds can be visited at any time of day. The shrine office is open 9:00–17:00.
About 15 minutes on foot from JR Kurashiki Station.
By car, about 20 minutes from Kurashiki IC (Sanyo Expressway) or Hayashima IC (Seto Chuo Expressway).
