Bandai Bridge

Bandai Bridge

萬代橋

Bandai Bridge crosses the Shinano River, Japan's longest river, and is the symbol of Niigata City. The first bridge was made of wood in 1886; the current reinforced concrete bridge, the third one, was finished in 1929 and survived the 1964 Niigata Earthquake. It is about 307 meters long and is a National Important Cultural Property. It is beautiful at sunset and when lit up at night.
