Nagasaki Peace Park
平和公園
Nagasaki Peace Park is on a low hill to the north of the hypocenter of the atomic bomb. It was built to pray for world peace and to remember the victims. The 9.7-meter Peace Statue stands here: its raised right hand points to the threat of atomic weapons, and its left arm shows the wish for peace. The park also has the Fountain of Peace and monuments from many countries.
