Meganebashi Bridge
眼鏡橋
Meganebashi is a stone arch bridge over the Nakashima River in central Nagasaki. It is one of the oldest surviving stone arch bridges in Japan and a National Important Cultural Property. Its name means "spectacles bridge" because its two arches and their reflection in the water look like a pair of glasses. Visitors enjoy walking along the riverside.

Tips for Muslim visitors
- The area is best enjoyed as a stroll around Meganebashi and the other stone bridges along the tree-lined Nakashima River.
- Many nearby shops and cafes specialize in castella, a buttery pound cake. The source does not list ingredients, so check labels or ask staff before buying.
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
- Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.
