白糸の滝
Shiraito Falls is a graceful waterfall north of Karuizawa, at the source of the Yugawa River. It is only 3 meters high but spreads across a 70-meter-wide arch. Hundreds of strands of underground water fall from the rocks like white threads, which gives the falls their name. Visitors enjoy fresh green leaves in spring, cool spray in summer and colorful leaves in autumn.
About 20 minutes by Karuizawa–Kusatsu line bus from Karuizawa Station (Hokuriku Shinkansen), then a 5-minute walk.
By car: about 22 km / 50 minutes from Usui-Karuizawa IC.
