Matsumoto Castle
松本城
Matsumoto Castle stands in the center of Matsumoto City. It was built during the Sengoku (Warring States) period and has stood for more than 400 years. Like Himeji Castle, it is a National Treasure of Japan. Visitors can climb the black-and-white keep for views, and in spring many cherry trees bloom around the moat.
