宮崎神宮
Miyazaki Jingu is the most visited shrine in Miyazaki City. It is dedicated to Emperor Jimmu, known in legend as Japan's first emperor. The shrine buildings stand in a quiet, green forest, reached by an approach with vermilion torii gates. In autumn, its Grand Festival includes a procession.
The gate opens at 6:00 and closes at 17:30 (October–April) or 18:30 (May–September).
Entry is free.
About 10 minutes on foot from JR Miyazaki Jingu Station.
