Futami Okitama Shrine and Meoto Iwa
二見興玉神社・夫婦岩
Futami Okitama Shrine is a seaside shrine in Futami, Ise City. Traditionally it is a place of purification before visiting Ise Jingu, and it is famous for Meoto Iwa, a large rock and a small rock tied together with a sacred rope. Around the summer solstice the sun rises between the rocks. Many frog statues stand in the grounds.
