Suizenji Jojuen Garden
水前寺成趣園
Suizenji Jojuen is a strolling garden made by Lord Hosokawa Tadatoshi in the early 17th century. Its artificial hill is shaped to recall Mount Fuji, and the garden recreates the 53 stations of the old Tokaido road. Visitors can enjoy each season while looking at stones set in the water and gentle artificial hills. About 150 cherry trees line the garden paths.

Tips for Muslim visitors
- Izumi Shrine, built in 1878, stands on the north side of the garden. The garden is a strolling garden around a pond, so you can simply walk and look around.
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
- Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.
