Luffy Statue (Kumamoto Prefectural Office)

This bronze statue of Monkey D. Luffy, hero of the manga ONE PIECE, stands on the promenade of the Kumamoto Prefectural Office. It was set up in November 2018 to honor author Eiichiro Oda, who is from Kumamoto, for his support after the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes. It is part of the 'ONE PIECE Kumamoto Revival Project', with statues of Luffy's crew placed in the affected towns.

Getting there

By bus, get off at 'Kumamoto Kencho-mae'; the statue is right there.

By tram, get off at 'Shiritsu Taiikukan-mae' and walk about 10 minutes.

From Aso Kumamoto Airport, take the airport limousine bus bound for the Kotsu Center and get off at 'Kumamoto Kencho-mae'.
