Cupnoodles Museum Yokohama

カップヌードルミュージアム横浜

The Cupnoodles Museum Yokohama is an interactive museum about instant noodles, made to inspire creativity and curiosity. It tells the story of Momofuku Ando, founder of Nissin Food Products, who invented Chicken Ramen, the world's first instant ramen, in 1958, and CUPNOODLES, the first ramen in a cup, in 1971. Visitors can design their own cup noodle package, make Chicken Ramen by hand, and see exhibits such as the Instant Noodles History Cube.

Tips for Muslim visitors

  • At My CUPNOODLES Factory you pick 4 of 12 toppings; the toppings include pork items such as 'Nazo Niku' (minced pork) and soybean roasted pork. The page does not say whether the soups are halal.
  • Making your own cup noodles takes about 45 minutes, and numbered tickets are handed out in order of entry; reception closes for the day when they run out.
  • Museums are quiet, indoor places that are good for a break, but few have a prayer room. Staff may let you use a quiet corner if you ask politely.
