Ritsurin Garden
栗林公園
Ritsurin Garden is a large strolling garden in Takamatsu, made by the feudal lords of the Edo period. Work began in the late 16th century, and the Matsudaira family finished it in 1745. Today visitors walk past six ponds, small landscaped hills and about 1,000 carefully shaped pine trees. You can also rest at a teahouse or take a boat ride on the South Pond.
