Yayoi Kusama "Pumpkin" (Naoshima)
南瓜（草間彌生）
"Pumpkin" is a large pumpkin sculpture by artist Yayoi Kusama. It stands on an old pier jutting into the sea, as an outdoor work of Benesse House Museum on Naoshima Island. It was first shown at the 1994 exhibition "Open Air '94". After the original was damaged by a typhoon, a new version was placed at the same spot in October 2022.

Take the town bus from Miyanoura Port to Tsutsuji-so, then walk or use the free Benesse Art Site shuttle bus into the museum area.
