Morioka Castle Site Park, also called Iwate Park, is in the center of Morioka on the grounds of the former Morioka Castle. By the early 20th century the castle site had fallen into disrepair, and it has been open as a park since 1906. Today it has stone walls, a shrine, a pond and statues.
