Oyama Shrine
尾山神社
Oyama Shrine honours Maeda Toshiie, founder of the ruling Maeda family, and moved to this site in 1873. Its famous gate, finished in 1875, mixes Japanese, Chinese and European styles and is an Important Cultural Property. The shrine also has a pond garden with a small island and bridges shaped like old musical instruments. It lies between Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle and the Nagamachi district.
