Ikuta Shrine

生田神社

Ikuta Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Sannomiya, the center of Kobe, with a history of around 1,800 years. It is even said that the name "Kobe" comes from this shrine. Its grounds include Ikuta Forest, known as the site of a 12th-century battle in the Gempei War. Many people visit the shrine and its quiet forest in the middle of the city.
