Mount Hakodate
函館山
Mount Hakodate is famous for its night view over the city of Hakodate, often called one of the most beautiful nightscapes in the world. The summit observatory has received three stars from the Michelin Green Guide Japan. Most visitors go up by the Mt. Tips for Muslim visitors
- The paid car park gets crowded from sunset and is full even on weekdays; public transport is recommended.
- The ropeway's official site shows each day's sunset time and the time the night view begins, which helps when planning around Maghrib.
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
- Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.
- Plan your visit around prayer times. Below are today's prayer times for Hokkaido and the verified places to pray nearby.
