Okonomi-mura

お好み村

Okonomi-mura is a building in central Hiroshima where 23 small okonomiyaki restaurants share the 2nd to 4th floors. After the war, about 50 okonomiyaki stalls gathered in Shintenchi Square. In 1963 the stalls moved into a two-story building when the square became a park, and the current building was completed in 1992. Each floor is lined with counters where cooks work at hot griddles.
