Shorinzan Darumaji Temple
少林山達磨寺
Shorinzan Darumaji is a Buddhist temple in Takasaki City, famous for daruma, the round red good-luck dolls. Daruma dolls are brought to the main hall all year round, and the Daruma Hall displays daruma from all over Japan. The German architect Bruno Taut lived here in the early Showa era, in a small house called Senshintei. Visitors can also try painting their own daruma.
