Magome-juku
馬籠宿
Magome-juku is an old post town in Nakatsugawa City. It was an important stop on the Nakasendo, the old mountain road between Tokyo and Kyoto, which had 69 post towns. The town keeps its Edo-period look and is still lived in today. Visitors walk up the cobbled street lined with old buildings, and a museum honors the local novelist Shimazaki Toson.
