Tadami River First Bridge Viewpoint
第一只見川橋梁ビューポイント
This hillside viewpoint in Mishima Town looks down on the First Tadami River Bridge, where trains of the JR Tadami Line cross the river. The Tadami Line runs about 135 km from Aizuwakamatsu in Fukushima to Koide in Niigata and is famous for its scenery. From the viewpoint you see the bridge and river change with each season, and it is popular with visitors from abroad.

About a 5-minute walk from the parking lot of Michi-no-Eki "Oze Kaido Mishima-juku" on Route 252.
By train: from Aizu-Miyashita Station on the Tadami Line, it is about 3.5 km (about 45 minutes on foot) to the Michi-no-Eki.

Good to know
- From the east side of the parking lot, a walking path on the left of the Kawai Tunnel entrance leads to stairs up to the viewpoints.
- There are several viewing points (B, C, D) reached by stairs beside the tunnel; wear good walking shoes.
Tips for Muslim visitors
- The viewpoint is busy with photographers and tourists at train passing times and in peak season; the prefecture suggests avoiding those times.
- The observation deck is next to Michi-no-Eki Oze Kaido Mishimajuku; on foot it is about 40 minutes from Aizu-Miyashita Station, and the town bus runs once a day (not on Sundays/holidays).
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
- Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.

- Food stalls and shops near popular sights usually do not have halal certification. Check the ingredients, or choose from the verified places on this site.
