Lake Inawashiro Sightseeing Boat

猪苗代観光船

Lake Inawashiro is Japan's fourth-largest freshwater lake, and together with Mt. Bandai it forms one of Aizu's best-known landscapes. Sightseeing boats shaped like a swan and a turtle leave from Nagahama on the lake shore. You can step out onto small decks at the front and back to enjoy the view. Announcements on board explain local history in Japanese, English and Mandarin.

Tips for Muslim visitors

  • The sightseeing boats Kamemaru and Hakuchomaru leave from Nagahama; there is no shop or restaurant at Nagahama beach.
  • Nagahama is a lake-swimming beach and is very busy in summer.
  • Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
  • Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.
  • Plan your visit around prayer times. Below are today's prayer times for Fukushima and the verified places to pray nearby.
  • Food stalls and shops near popular sights usually do not have halal certification. Check the ingredients, or choose from the verified places on this site.
