Aquamarine Fukushima

Aquamarine Fukushima is a large "environmental aquarium" by the sea at Onahama in Iwaki City. Its theme is the "shiome" sea, where ocean currents meet, and it shows about 800 kinds of living things. Exhibits include the "Oyashio Ice Box" and a water area called "Jabujabu Meguri no Umi". It is a good place for families to learn about sea life and the environment.

Opening hours

March 21–November 30: 9:00–17:30. December 1–March 20: 9:00–17:00. Last entry is one hour before closing.

Adults 1,850 yen; elementary to high school students 900 yen; preschool children free.

Getting there

From JR Izumi Station (Joban Line), take a local bus toward Onahama/Ena to "Aeon Mall Iwaki Onahama" (about 15 minutes), then walk about 5 minutes.
