Ohori Park
大濠公園
Ohori Park is a large city park in central Fukuoka, built around a lake that was once part of the moat of Fukuoka Castle. It opened in 1929 as a Place of Scenic Beauty. A waterfront path of about 2 km goes around the lake, and bridges lead to Nakanoshima Island with its red Ukimi pavilion. Visitors can walk, jog, rent boats, and visit the Fukuoka Art Museum, a Japanese garden and a Noh theater. At night, part of the lake is lit up.

Tips for Muslim visitors
- A walking path of about 2 km runs around the pond.
- The waterside east of Naka-no-shima island is lit up every evening (18:00–22:00; 19:00–22:00 April–September).
- Natural sites may have few facilities. Bring water, a travel prayer mat and a qibla app, and check the weather; mountains and lakes can be much colder than the city.
- Restrooms for wudu can be far apart on trails. Many Muslim travellers carry a small water bottle for wudu.
