Kawachi Fujien Wisteria Garden

河内藤園

Kawachi Fujien is a private wisteria garden in Yahatahigashi Ward, Kitakyushu. In the flower season about 22 kinds of wisteria bloom, and the highlights are two wisteria tunnels, 80 m and 110 m long, plus a large wisteria trellis. The garden has drawn attention at home and abroad. In autumn about 700 maple trees turn red.

Visitor information

Opening hours: Wisteria season (late April to early May): 8:00 to 18:00.
Admission: Admission changes with the state of the flowers, from about 500 to 1,500 yen.
Getting there: About 20 minutes by car from Otani IC or Yamaji IC on the Kitakyushu Urban Expressway.

Good to know

During the wisteria period, entry is by reserved ticket to reduce crowding.
In 2024 (April 20 to May 6), date-and-time tickets were sold at convenience stores or on the garden's website, not at the gate.
Free parking for 200 cars.
