Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins
一乗谷朝倉氏遺跡
Ichijodani is a valley in Fukui City that was a castle town during Japan's Warring States period. For over 100 years it was the base of the powerful Asakura clan. After excavations began in 1967, part of the old town was rebuilt. Visitors can walk the streets and enter samurai, merchant and craftsman houses.
