Matsuyama Castle
松山城
Matsuyama Castle stands on Mt. Katsuyama (132 m) in the center of Matsuyama city. It was built in the early 17th century. Together with Uwajima Castle, it is one of Japan's twelve castles that survive in their original form. Visitors walk through gates and past high stone walls, and from the top floor of the keep they can see the city, the mountains and the Seto Inland Sea.
