Dogo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-Yu
道後温泉別館 飛鳥乃湯泉
Asuka-no-Yu is a public hot spring bathhouse near Dogo Onsen Honkan in Matsuyama. It was built in 2017 in the style of the Asuka period (552–645), honoring the legend of Prince Shotoku's visit to the hot springs. Inside, traditional Ehime handicrafts and modern art decorate the halls. Visitors can bathe, or rest in a large hall or private room upstairs.

1st floor bath 6:00–23:00 (last entry 22:30). 2nd floor resting hall and private rooms 6:00–22:00.
- Admission
Bath only: adults 610 yen, children (2–11) 300 yen.
Bath plus 2nd floor private room: adults 1,690 yen, children 830 yen. Rental towels cost 110 yen.
- Getting there
From JR Matsuyama Station, about 25 minutes by Iyotetsu tram bound for Dogo Onsen.

- You may not bring in any food or drink.
Tips for Muslim visitors
- The main baths are separated for men and women, marked by noren curtains at each entrance.
- There are two special private baths (replicas of the Yushinden) where you bathe in a bathing robe; they require a reservation, which opens 90 days ahead. There are also five private rest rooms.
- Outside food and drink cannot be brought in. Bathing and resting together are limited to 90 minutes.
- At most public hot springs in Japan people bathe naked, in baths separated by gender, and swimwear is usually not allowed. If you prefer privacy, look for a private bath (kashikiri-buro), an in-room bath or a foot bath.
- Wash your body at the shower area before entering the bath. Many visitors who want to stay covered choose a foot bath instead.

- Food stalls and shops near popular sights usually do not have halal certification. Check the ingredients, or choose from the verified places on this site.
