Mt. Nokogiri and Nihon-ji Temple
鋸山 日本寺
Nihon-ji is a Buddhist temple whose grounds spread across Mt. Nokogiri on the Boso Peninsula, divided into five areas. Near the summit, the Jigoku Nozoki viewpoint looks over Tokyo Bay, the Boso Peninsula and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji. The Hyakushaku Kannon figure was carved into an old stone quarry wall over six years and finished in 1966. Visitors also walk down to see the large Daibutsu stone Buddha.
