Aomori Museum of Art
青森県立美術館
The Aomori Museum of Art is a prefectural art museum next to the Sannai-Maruyama Ruins, a large Jomon-period site. Its white building was inspired by the excavation area. Outside stands Aomori-ken, a huge dog sculpture by Hirosaki-born artist Nara Yoshitomo. Inside, the tall Aleko Hall shows stage backdrops painted by Marc Chagall for the ballet Aleko.
