Hakka Pass is a mountain pass above Lake Towada with a viewpoint looking over the lake. Lake Towada lies on the border of Akita and Aomori and is one of the deepest lakes in Japan. From the pass you can see Mt. Ohanabe straight ahead and the Hakkoda Mountains, and below you can see the Wainai fish hatchery, where salmon has been raised since the early 1900s.
